o.T. (1) is a drawing study of borders drawn with a line that does not intersect. Since the line does not intersect, the drawing visually divides the paper into two parts, one being the positive or negative of the other.

laser-cut paper, framed

o.T. (1) was laser cut into paper. The material was thus divided into two halves, one half being the positive or negative of the other half and vice versa.
Metaphorically, this process refers to the division of matter into two categories that belong to a unity. An understanding of the content of this unity, however, is only possible through the division.
Through the materiality of the paper, different, temporary and not stable arrangement possibilities arise, which undermine the unambiguity of the drawing that was the source of the Lasercut. Copies that are unambiguously different from one another are created when the same drawing is cut several times.
By overlaying several cuts, a single image reminiscent of topography and landscape is created, which retains its possibilities of arrangement.
