'Artist's Paradise' aims to critically reflect on the pricing of artworks and the price-bound nature of a setting, that could be paradisical for an artist.
The scene in the work depicts a stereotypical paradise setting – beach, palm trees, blue sea, and an image held by an easel, but simultaneously blends into the background.
Various distortions of the format address the pricing of images using the common formula (height + width) factor = price, which leads to contradictory pricing and its consequences:
The more elongated the format, the higher the price per cm2; the more distorted the motif,
the longer the beach and the less stereotypical the representation.
The digital print enhances the irony by making the prints unique.
